I am quite Flexible on dates so please contact me to discuss what better suits you.

During the workshop I will take you to various heathland locations around the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall to photograph many bird species including Stonechats, Wheatears, Kestrels and Dartford Warblers, and many more heathland specialists.

The Lizard with it’s flower-rich meadows, rolling heaths, windswept cliffs, marine life above and below the waves, woods, freshwater ponds and streams…put them together and all these different habitats are why The Lizard is so special for wildlife. Known especially for its unique and abundant flora and wide landscapes, you will also find birds, mammals, invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians and, of course, a multitude of marine life. additional information

As with all my wildlife courses, I have a strict ethical approach, the welfare of the subject must always come first. The only way to stalk and approach birds and mammals properly is on foot, and using my 35 years of experience and field craft I will explain to you how to do this safely and correctly with any disturbance being kept to an absolute minimum. This is to ensure we don’t interfere in any way with their natural behavior and environment.
The perfect way to do this is to leave them where we find them, and that is something I pride myself on, never the shot at the expense of the subject.
Some workshops can quite often be strenuous and over rough terrain so you will have to ensure you are able to walk a mile or so unaided and be able to get low in to a crouched position for limited periods.
I will make sure that you are properly prepared by providing you with all the necessary information prior to starting the workshop, this will include wearing the correct clothing, lens and camera equipment suitable for this type of photography. I am a very friendly, relaxed and very approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The day will start with a brief on whats planned for the day ahead and the ethical approach to photographing wildlife. I will of course constantly advise assist you throughout the duration of the workshop.
The main aim for you on this workshop is to enjoy yourself and come away with some great memories and great pictures, please contact me if you have any further questions.

I am more than happy to tailor a workshop that suits you, so if you’d like to focus on a certain specie please contact me to discuss this further.
